Frieze Week: Mayfair Art After Dark
October is one of the most exciting times to explore London’s art scene, as Frieze Week brings new exhibitions, artists and collectors from around the world into the city.
We are skipping the main fair and heading into Mayfair instead, where some of London’s leading galleries open their doors for an evening of contemporary art, completely free. We will start at Hauser & Wirth on Savile Row, continue to David Zwirner on Grafton Street, then make our way to Cork Street, home to one of London’s best concentrations of contemporary galleries, before finishing over a glass of wine.
If you love discovering new corners of London, or simply want a relaxed evening with good company, this one is for you. You do not need to know anything about contemporary art to join us.
WHAT TO EXPECT
We will meet at 6pm outside Hauser & Wirth, 23 Savile Row, London W1S 2ET, then walk together to David Zwirner.
From there we will head to Cork Street and choose our last gallery on the night, depending on what is open and looking interesting during Frieze Week.
At around 8pm we will walk together to Mr Fogg’s Residence for a glass of wine and more conversation. The gallery visits are free and everyone covers their own drinks. Expect around an hour and a half of gallery hopping with short walks in between, so do wear comfortable shoes.
Please note, your host will not be able to wait for latecomers, so do arrive on time.
