For the first of our new London Secrets series, we are heading somewhere you could easily walk straight past without ever knowing what was hiding behind the door.
Welcome to Evans & Peel Detective Agency, a 1920s inspired speakeasy hidden beneath the streets of Earl’s Court. Getting inside is part of the experience. You arrive at what appears to be a detective agency, where you present your case to the detective before being shown through the secret entrance to the bar beyond. Inside, expect low lighting, vintage interiors, cocktails and all the atmosphere of a prohibition era drinking den, with live music from 9pm.
If you love discovering London’s hidden places, good cocktails and a night out with a bit of theatre to it, this one is for you.
WHAT TO EXPECT
We will meet outside Evans & Peel Detective Agency, 310c Earl’s Court Road, London SW5 9BA, shortly before our 7:45pm reservation, where your host will be waiting to welcome you.
We will head inside together, and first we will need to convince the detective that we have a case worth investigating before we are granted access to the hidden speakeasy.
Our table is reserved from 7:45pm, giving us plenty of time to settle in, order drinks and catch up before live music starts at 9pm. Our table is reserved until 9:45pm. Everyone covers the cost of their own food and drinks on the evening.
